Ninja Positions/ Ranks




1:   Kage -The Kage represents the head of each village

1.1: S-Class- S-class ninja have gained power far beyond an average Jounin and earned a legendary status. This title is merely a class rather than an actual rank; the ninja's official rank with a village will usually still be Jounin. However, it can sometimes be lower, or they can have no rank at all. The allegiances of these ninja range from being part of the village's own ninja to being wandering ninja who are still loyal to their village, like Jiraiya. Some ninja of this level tend to leave their villages behind to seek their own ambitions, thus becoming missing-nin. The ninja organization Akatsuki is originally composed of ten S-class missing-nin. Ninja of this class are often noted in the Bingo book, a list of notable enemy ninja marked for assassination that each ninja village provides for its Jounin and ANBU squad members. Most ninja, even high-level ones, choose to flee rather than face someone of the S-class



2: Kage" Level -There exists a level of ninja who are of Kage level, but who are not presently a village Kage

Classification: Highly skilled village ninja, Generally Jounin officially

2.0: ANBU -This specialized ninja battalion generally work in groups of four to five. They are responsible for assassinations and missions requiring highly trained ninjas.....The ANBU work directly under the leadership of the kage

Classification: Specialized Ninja Squad

3: Special Jounin(Special High Ranked Level Ninja) - Special Jounin are ninjas who have gained high Jounin-level skills in one area of ninja arts


4: Hunter Ninja -these shinobi hunters search for ninja who have abandoned their village.


5: Jounin (High Ranked Level Ninja) -these highly skilled ninjas normally serve as squad leaders on mission assignments. Some Jounins are also assigned Genin level ninja to function as three man cells.



6: Medical-Ninja -These specialized ninja are responsible for the health and well being of ninja injured in battle



7: Military Policemen - the village Military Police Corps are responsible for maintaining city peace and law enforcement.

Classification: Organization


8.5: Chuunin -Upon reaching Chuunin level, ninja can wear an identifying tactical vest that holds ninjutsu scrolls....


8: Genin (Low Ranked Level Ninja -Genin will be assigned a Jounin sensei, who will monitor their progress and help push for mission assignments benefiting their skill level. Should the Genin not impress the Jounin sensei, they can be sent back to the Ninja Academy for further training


9:Ninja Academy Students - Each ninja in a Village starts at the Ninja Academy where they are taught basic jutsu techniques.

hmm i don't think kage should be a rank, its a title for those that lead a village, not a rank. instead you could have Sannin like from naruto as a rank for the top ninjas, i just don't think making kage as a rank is a smart move and could get complicated when talking about the village leader or the rank itself, and yes i agree with sasori chuunin rank can't be forgotten, its an important step up from genin

Legendary Sanin could be a rank even above that.

I also think we need a "Legendary Sannin" Rank
And I think most of the "ranks" in the first post should be jobs

AS > Genin > Special Jounin > Jounin > Commander > Sanin > Legendary Sanin (Title given to endgame Sanin)

You missed Chuunin
And shouldn't Jounin come before SJ?

I did forget Chunnin xD

In Naruto, J is after SJ. I like it that way

Kage will not be a rank

it will be a title such a Hunter Ninja and maybe I will think about police corps.
but so far I am liking the ideas everyone is coming up with

Military Police could be a optional title for mods

If they allow beasts lets make our own don't follow the ones from the show lol

Sounds good but i think, for the beginning, are too many ranks. As much divided are the players as less chances to pvp you have.

AS > Genin > Chuunin > Jounin > Special Jounin

should be enough at the beggining. There is always the option to open new ranks as the game so require.
